Wood is a graduate of Sam Houston State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Teaching. After teaching for twenty-seven years she is now retired. She enjoys scrap booking, quilting, craft projects and also substituting. She lives with her husband, Mike, in Huntsville, Texas and has two grown daughters and a son-in-law.
